HEY!

I woke up
this morning, and was so ready for the eco-village PBL. I have during the past
years become very interested in the environment and in sustainability, so this
opportunity was just great. When we got there we went on a hike and got an
overview over the area of land belonging to the eco-village. After having
enjoyed the view and the beautiful sunshine, we got into groups trying to
build/plan/create plans for this eco-village.
We
identified the resources already accessible here, and wrote how we could use
these to fulfill basic needs such as energy and food, and which aspects we
would have to add to.
What we
spent most time on discussing, was who the target group of the eco-village
should be. We also discussed which medium to reach the target group through,
and what to tell them/which points that would attract them, and how it would
work going from the idea to having an ongoing and functioning eco-village. We
considered how to manage the financial part, and which population ratio that
would take part, and how they each could contribute to the e.v. We will now
have a presentation on environmental architecture, and for this I am very excited.
I have
today been reflecting upon the past weeks, and am ready for an educational and
great experience.
6/10-15
Today has
been a long and good day. We continued planning the e.v., and went after a
presentation on eco-architecture out to register the site in which the e.v. is
located. We identified running fresh water, exposed rocks, differences in
altitude, and where the buildings, green houses, fields, compost etc. should be
placed.
We
documented it all by taking pictures. After lunch we worked on drawing the
different things on the map and presenting our final ideas to each other.
Afterwards
we heard the real plans for the e.v. I learned about cooperation, how to notice
and inspect a site, how to implement observations into plans and ideas, and how
to consider many aspects when working with a big project.

Today was
yet a wonderful day in Eide eco-village. We started the day with a long hike,
picked berries and saw the surrounding area. After lunch we went to the field
to turn the soil. This was to prepare the soil for the next year. We had a lot
of fun, were finding potatoes and were dressed in blue jumpsuits and rubber
boots.
We had
crabs for dinner and since I had seen them alive just half an hour earlier, it
was quite special eating them. I read books, played games, did origami, and
really enjoyed the feeling of home, the lovely group and the good atmosphere. I
enjoyed the air, the new mountains, relaxed my head, really enjoyed doing some
practical work.

The end of
a wonderful week has come. I have not only had a great week, I have also made
new friends, learned new things, and gotten a break from the everyday life at
college. I think it has been very healthy for my well being to be here, and my
head feels much more clear, much lighter, and my body is much nicer to be in.
I have
gotten a lot of wind, which I had been missing, I have exchanged stories from
home, met people who work with sustainability and being eco-friendly, and it
has been inspiring to see how they have turned something I am so passionate
about into a way of living. Yesterday the yoga-PBL visited us, and it was great
but also suddenly different to have so many people around. We went on a silent
walk and I noticed many things in the nature I hadn't noticed before, even
though it was the fourth time I walked on that road.
It has been
a great week in Eide, and I am very thankful for the opportunity to be there,
and for all the new things I have learned.
Nu vil jeg forlade mit klasselokale med matematik og fysik i luften, og se lidt på fjorden.
God søndag!!
